ABSTRACT

Drugs are designed and engineered to treat disease or the symp-toms of disease. But the molecules that we ingest as drugs frequently do more than one thing. Some of these additional things are side eects. When engineering a new drug, it helps to be aware of what side eects are taking place for those related drugs currently on the market or in clinical trials. is knowledge can help the drug designer avoid chemical signatures or o-target eects that may cause problems when the drug is administered to a large patient population.
