ABSTRACT

At the moment, there is a considerable experimental basis for reinforcement of masonry (especially for buildings located in seismic areas) with external materials based on carbon fibers In addition, sufficient experience and results of monitoring is collected in system of external reinforcement of objects. However, there are still significant theoretical gaps in calculation bases of this reinforcement method. One of these outstanding issues is reinforcement of the piers of masonry using external reinforcement based on carbon fibers. In order to manage this issue there have been experimental studies on natural samples, reinforced with the external reinforcement system FibArm (products of CJSC “HC “Composite”, Russia).
