ABSTRACT

Cathodic Protection (CP) is a successful technique to guaranty structural integrity by which corrosion of reinforcement is inhibited to a negligible rate by lowering its potential. In a project named ‘Liggerkoppen’ (which translates to ‘beam heads’) 30 concrete bridges in the Netherlands are provided with a Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) system. The project was executed in 2012 and 2013 in commissioned by the Dutch Highway Administration (‘Rijkswaterstaat’; DHA).
