ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to determine the distribution and the bond characteristics of plain round bars in low strength concrete. Cyclic pull-out loadings were performed using bars embedded in concrete prisms with strength less than 13.5 N/ mm2. Cyclic loading program is shown in Figure 1. The local tensile and compressive stresses of the bar were obtained by strain gauges mounted inside the bar, as per the references. The main parameter being considered is the length of the embedded bars. By calculating the tensile force along the bar, the relative slip in the bar is also investigated.
