ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Most of hydropower stations were built in the mountain gorge with complex geological conditions, and so it was inevitable to involve some engineering geological problems of high slope stability in building a variety of high dams. The paper had systematically studied comprehensive treatment measures and corresponding monitoring results of Mayanpo slope, and analyzed its deformation, seepage-pressure and stress-strain characteristics, and evaluated slope stability. The results showed that: The comprehensive treatment scheme by using “drainage ditches + anti-slide piles + pre-stressed anchor cable” in Mayanpo slope engineering was feasible, and the two-step implementation plan of “emergency treatment and the fundamental governance” had a remarkable effect; Mayanpo slope was greatly influenced by the slope surface load and rainfall before completing the engineering treatment and by rainfall before and after filling the dam reservoir, and the raised invasion line caused by rising water level of the reservoir had a smaller effect on Mayanpo slope; creep damage before Mayanpo slope treatment and semi-rigid destruction after treatment made the strength reduction coefficient of slope increase considerably, respectively, 1.05 and 1.72.
