ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT The de/anti-icing technology is one of the important technologies on the flying safety in winter. In the paper, the flow of the Newton anti-icing fluids with the air flow in low speed is simulated in VOF. The flow characteristics and the boundary layer displacement thickness characteristics with time are studied in different air flow speed. It is showed that when there is Newton anti-icing fluid in the plate, the boundary layer thickness and displacement thickness increase due to the existence of the anti-icing fluids boundary layer and the transition in the air boundary layer. The boundary layer displacement thickness with anti-icing fluids changes little first and then decreases rapidly, and finally decreases slowly with the time. The boundary layer displacement thickness would decrease with increase in the air inlet velocity.
