ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: A polystyrene-modified ethoxarbonyl thiourea resin (PSETU) was used to extract Au and Ag in a sulfuric-acid residue leaching solution. The results showed that PSETU adsorption efficiency for Au was better than other resins under the same conditions. The effects of contact time, resin dose, and adsorption temperature on Au and Ag adsorption efficiency were investigated by the batch tests. The results showed that the adsorption ratios of Au and Ag reached 75.3% and 99.3%, respectively, when the contact time was 120 min, the resin dose was 10 g/L and the temperature was 20 °C. In dynamic experiments, the adsorption ratios of Au and Ag were more than 90% and the desorption ratio of Au and Ag reached 99%, when the solution’s flow velocity was 0.5 ml/min and the column height was 2 cm. In the leaching-adsorption-desorption process, the total recovery ratios of Au and Ag were 82.5% and 72.1%, respectively.
