ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The location of spoil area, on the basis of meeting the requirements of environmental assessment, should as far as possible to reduce the distance between dredger and spoil area to save money, but at the same time, should avoid sediment from mud-dumping ground back silting to channel. Therefore, in this paper, based on analysis of natural conditions in the engineering area, such as dynamic conditions, sediment transport direction and so on, the location of spoil area is determined. Then the mathematical model is used to study suspended sediment transport in mud-dumping ground and to determine mud-dumping ground location which can satisfy the need of the construction.
