ABSTRACT
Particular interest has been shown in developing an advanced multimedia streaming method to prevent the occurrence of dead nodes, which is especially important if the nodes cooperatively send content to the base station using routing protocols. However, such situations can be solved by choosing the best-tting MAC protocols, routing protocols, network topology, and method of power supply. Nodes can be powered using solar cells, although this method has drawbacks because the cells need to be directed toward the sun; solar power is not always guaranteed, especially in harsh environments like forests. Developing streaming techniques diers from computer networks. A computer network works toward a primary issue, to prevent delays, but WMSNs work toward a dierent primary issue-to prevent high power consumption, which may lead to dead nodes in the network. ese problems will be solved by using the smart advanced multimedia streaming techniques that will be shown in this chapter.
