ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: In this paper, the influence of motor elastic suspension on running stability with a simplified motor model is analyzed. Parametric studies are under taken in order to analysis the respective effects of the motor’s parameters on the running stability of vehicle. It is found that the stiffness and damping properties of the motor have a great influence on the critical speed. There exists an optimum suspension frequency for motor, below which a relatively large critical speed is obtained. Finally, the effect of primary longitudinal stiffness, conicity of wheelset and series stiffness of anti-yaw damper on the optimum suspension frequency is analyzed, and it is shown that the optimum suspension frequency of motor is significantly affected by primary longitudinal stiffness and conicity of wheelset.
