ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: In order to meet the strict requirement of surface-shape and realize the ultralightweight design of a tip/tilt mirror, the topology optimization method is introduced to the design of a ϕ110 mm round mirror for support part of the mirror. First, the theory and the approach of topology optimization is introduced, then absorbing the meanings of SIMP (Solid Isotropic Material with Penalization) and RAMP (Rational Approximation of Material Properties), a new approach ASMP (Adjusted Solid Material with Penalization) is proposed, and talking about its advantage. Finally, topology optimization for the mirror is processed, and it proved the new ASMP approach for topology optimization is correct and reliable. Compared with other traditional design method, it can improve surface profile remarkably. Furthermore, it lays a solid foundation for next parameters optimization.
