ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Hydrothermal method was adopted to prepare nano zirconia powders. Analytical reagent Zr(NO3)4 ⋅ 5H2O and Y(NO3)3 ⋅ 6H2O were adopted as reactors and the experimental parameters such as the pH, hydrothermal reaction time, temperature and doping contents were optimized through orthogonal experiment to prepare zirconia samples with high tetragonal phase purity and controllable grain size. X-ray diffraction was adopted to characterize the phase purity and crystallinity of samples derived. Results show that the four parameters have different influence weight on tetragonal structure and grain size of zirconia samples. It was demonstrated that the reaction time had the most remarkable influence among all of the experimental parameters. While for the influence of experimental parameters on grain size of samples, the pH value had the most remarkable influence.
