ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Most of the heat generated in engine compartment is taken away by cooling air from inlet grids suctioned by cooling fan. The analysis of cooling air in the inlet section is important to the thermal balance of engine. Therefore, this paper is addressed to air inlet grids and cooling fan by model establishment and numerical simulation. The attention is paid to the effect of characteristic parameters on the performance of air inlet grids and cooling fan, including their geometry parameters and operating parameters. The research will be helpful in guiding future design and optimization of vehicle cooling system and engine compartment.
