ABSTRACT

In recent years, Lyman, A.C[1], Witry A[2], Oliet, C[3] investigated air-side heat transfer and flow behavior for louvered fin radiators structure by numerical simulation, Yuan, Z.Q[4], Li, K.N[5] also studied the louvered fin radiators with the heat transfer and flow characteristics by experimental. However, due to the increase in number of tube rows (radiator core thickness), certain aluminum material will lead to the cooling capacity decrease[6]. So, most researchers are focused on the thermal performance of radiator with single tube row, only few researchers studied the radiator with multi-tube rows. Liu, J.X[7] carried on the research for three, four, five tube rows radiator by numerical simulation method, Tong, Z.M[8] studied the single and two tube rows radiator thermal performance, and discovered radiators with double tube rows cost more than radiators with single tube row, but the heat transfer performance has not improved significantly. However, multi-row tube radiators can play an important role in large scale engineering machinery, therefore, a radiator of mechanical engineering with different numbers of tube rows is necessary to study and analysis.
