ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: In this paper, the driving characteristics of tracked vehicles on soft ground, especially the properties of relationship between traction force and slip ratio when driving straightly on soft ground were analyzed. Aiming at the result of the ground pressure distribution of a tracked vehicle, a simplified pressure model was built and a calculation method about the ground traction exerted by the tracked vehicle is presented, the ground traction of each road wheel and the whole vehicle can be achieved with the parameters of soil carried out by test. The method is proved credible by the consistency between the result of on-vehicle experiment and the calculation result, the coherence suggests the feasibility of models, which makes a foundation for the calculation of driving load in the tracked vehicle.
