ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: A dual-band metamaterial absorber was designed based on the electromagnetic resonance. The absorber consists of electrical metal ring resonators, lossy dielectric and metal backboard. Using the electromagnetic simulation software simulated, and different polarized vertical incident electromagnetic wave and oblique incident electromagnetic wave were applied on the surface of the absorber respectively. The simulation results show that the absorptivity for different polarized vertical incident electromagnetic waves is 99.7% at 6.3 GHz and 99.2% at 13.01 GHz respectively. When the incident angle increases to 40 deg, the absorptivity of the absorber remains above 91.5% at two frequencies. The absorber exhibits a wide incident angle characteristic. By studying distribution of electric on the surface of structure, we analyzed its working mechanism. Using absorbing characteristic, we can attach absorbers to the antenna. By reducing antenna’s RCS, we can achieve its stealth purpose.
