ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: CaCO3 powder was prepared by dispersing CO2 gas into the Ca(OH)2 slurry through a micropore plate with different addition of stearic acid as template. The polymorph and morphology of CaCO3 particles were investigated by using XRD patterns and TEM photographs, respectively. The XRD patterns indicate that the addition of stearic acid cannot change the crystalline phase of CaCO3 particles. The remarkable difference in morphology for different addition of stearic acid was observed in the TEM photographs. The formation mechanism of CaCO3 powder on stearic acid template was proposed.
