ABSTRACT

In the 1980s, the national economy was on the path of recovery. The economic growth has created numbers of jobs for the society, thus attracting many rural people to work in the city. Then the number of peasant workers soared, having made great contributions to the economic development. This stage turns out to be a very important pace in the process of the national urbanization, as well as an important step for the national economic modernization. However, peasant workers are suffering huge stress of the city life while contributing to the economic development. The stress mainly presents in the unsolved social security problems, and peasant workers are still in a relatively weak position in the city life [1]. The peasant workers’ social security problems not only concern the solutions of guaranteeing their living standard, but also influence the harmonious development of the whole society, as well as the development of the socialist market economy significantly. Currently, peasant workers are an important part of the city labor, and the scale of them can’t be overlooked. Dealing with the social security problems of such a large population becomes an important research subject in the process of the urbanization in China.
