ABSTRACT: Navigation has been the key point of human development and research for a long time, and navigation technology is in continuous development and update since old times. At present, BeiDou Navigation Satellite System developed by China independently shows obvious advantages, being used in more and more fields. Surveying and mapping engineering has strict standards on precision and positioning, especially in the aspects of coordinating and mapping. Therefore, navigation system is also applied in surveying and mapping engineering, so as to effectively improve and update traditional surveying and mapping. The work analyzed the principle and characteristics of BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, exploring its application in surveying and mapping engineering.
