ABSTRACT

Platform Screen Door (PSD) is a safety system used in the subway and LRT (Light Rail Transit) to cut off the platform from rails. Fixed doors and sliding doors are installed at appropriate places of the platform. Sliding doors interact with car doors [1]. Opening and closing as an ATO (Automatic Train Operation) system makes a signal when an electric train stops at a designated place. And it can give metro system the following benefits: Prevent passengers from falling or jumping on the tracks, allow trains passing through the station at a high speed, reduce draught and air pressure caused by trains; let the platforms be quiet and clean; allow stations to be air conditioned at a lower cost in the hot climate, prevent people from throwing trash on the tracks and prevent track fires, increase passengers’ comfort and the average train speed and so on [2].
