ABSTRACT
In the “Twelfth Five-year-plan” Special Planning for Technology Development of Modern Service Industry formulated in 2011, modern service industry is defined as:“ Supported by modern science and technology (especially information technology), it’s a service industry established on new business models, service modes and management methods. It includes both the new service industries emerged with technology development and the conventional ones transformed and upgraded by modern technology. ” Guilin has become the first batch of comprehensive reform pilot areas for service industry. China will promote the reform and innovation pilot, Guilin, from three directions: eco-tourism, commercial exhibition, social pension services. And Guilin, as a veteran tourist city, should take this opportunity to accelerate the development of modern service industry. With the weak status of industry and agriculture in Guilin, modern service industry is of great significance for nurturing new economic growth points and promoting economic development and industry upgrading and conversion. Thus it’s imperative to aggressively develop modern service industry.
