ABSTRACT
Current Internet naming is very limited and does not favor security [6, 14, 36]. Unique identification of “things” is nonexistent. Name resolution is limited to resolve domain names to Internet protocol (IP) addresses. There is no support for service names, among many other relevant names for IoT scenarios. Naming has also an important role in data integrity and provenance, as we will further discuss.
