17.1 Introduction
Inertial sensors consist of accelerometer and gyroscope sensors. A unit with gyro-scopes and accelerometers is also called an inertial measurement unit (IMU). These sensors can be utilized for motion detection applications. Inertial sensors are also used in combination with magnetometer sensors to achieve better measurements.
