ABSTRACT

2.1 Introduction

This chapter deals with input, which is the primary objective of this book. Some of the best advice for input devices was given by Hinckley and Wigdor in "Input Technologies and Techniques" [Hinckley and Widgor 12] by stating that to look at the complete picture of input devices one must go beyond the typical strengths and weaknesses. This means that "any property of an input device can be turned to one's advantage when used appropriately in an interface design" [Hinckley and Widgor 12].
