ABSTRACT

Unity, created by Unity Technology, is a popular game development kit designed to be a complete integrated development environment (IDE). Unity provides multi-platform game development (desktops, web browsers, consoles, and mobile devices) for rapid development. Unity is capable of creating the game for either a 2D or 3D VE. This chapter deals with the steps required for a 3D VE. This chapter used Unity Pro version 4. While Unity 5 is the latest development tool, Unity 4 is still pervasive among Unity users. Unity 4 Pro it is still available for users that purchase1 Unity 5. Also, the concepts of this chapter would apply to newer versions (see Figure 21.1).2.
