ABSTRACT

As addressed in previous chapter, even though temporal phase-shifting algorithm could avoid the spatial phase-unwrapping step, for high-speed applications, a single-frequency phase shifting is more preferable and a spatial phase unwrapping is vital. The large body of literature on phase-unwrapping algorithm developments have been focused on improving the robustness to noise or handling tough situations, and the processing speeds have been a major focus until recently. This chapter mainly presents a special phase-unwrapping algorithm that Zhang et al. [97] developed for real-time applications where the processing speed is a priority, and the major body of this chapter was modied from that publication.
