ABSTRACT
Improving the health of the nation has been the central mission of the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) for over 200 years. As the health needs of the nation changed, the priorities and activities of the PHS changed to meet those needs. Today, PHS health-care providers including pharmacists provide service in almost all federal health agencies.
