ABSTRACT

Magnetic resonance venography (MRV) has evolved into a clinically proven, reliable, and effective imaging modality for the evaluation of the venous system. Many of the techniques described in this chapter are generally used for imaging of both the arterial and venous systems.1 Compared to arterial imaging, MRV tends to be less technically demanding due to slower blood ow and more homogenous ow proles. The purpose of this chapter is to describe theory, techniques, and current applications of MRV in clinical practice.
