ABSTRACT

Abstract With the movement of Big Data to cloud computing platforms, security issue has become sophisticated. The claim of risk duplication is introduced in this chapter due to the virtualization nature of the cloud environment. Cloud computing has become an appropriate infrastructure for Big Data processing and analytics due to its massive features. Nowadays, in data-centric world, Big Data processing and analytics have become critical to most enterprises and government applications. Thus, there is a need for novel approaches to secure Big Data analytics in the cloud. This chapter discusses the motivations and outcomes of the integration of Big Data with cloud computing security. Therefore, it studies the relationship between Big Data and cloud computing. Then, we explain general theoretical properties that motivate the evaluation of Big Data integration technology and capabilities with case studies. Moreover, we survey identity-based approaches, cryptographic approaches, and some techniques that are used to secure Big Data in the cloud. Finally, we will introduce a suitable paradigm for achieving high degree of security and efficiency in such sophisticated network access to many online services and applications introduced by the integrity of Big Data with cloud computing. In conclusion, the main objective of this chapter is to address the main risks arising from the integration of Big Data with the cloud. Moreover, it will propose some solutions to overcome the security weakness of Big Data access through cloud computing assets.
