ABSTRACT The binary blends of butyl rubber (BR) and low-density polyethylene (PE) containing 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 70, 80, and 100 mass% of PE were investigated. Thermophysical parameters, such as the structure of PE and BR polymer chains, segmental mobility of the chains in the amorphous regions, proton transverse magnetic relaxation, and kinetic of oxidation, were determined. The relationship between the structure, molecular dynamics, and thermo-oxidative stability of low-density PE and BR blends was established.
