ABSTRACT
United States’ President Barack Obama, speaking on his Global Health Initiative said “…we cannot wall ourselves off from the world and hope for the best, nor ignore the public health challenges beyond our borders... we cannot simply confront individual preventable illnesses in isolation. The world is interconnected, and that demands an integrated approach to global health….” (GHI, 2009). “…we must come together to prevent, and detect, and fi ght every kind of biological danger-whether it’s a pandemic like H1N1, or a terrorist threat, or a treatable disease (GHSA, 2011).”
