ABSTRACT
In the successful clinical results of total hip replacement (THR), technological developments in orthopedic implants have been extremely important. THR replaces an unsalvageable joint to restore its normal function by providing a painless, mobile, and stable joint. Several progresses have been made to increase long-term results through the incorporation of newer biomaterials, improved articulating surface design to reduce wear, and fixation techniques.
