ABSTRACT

In the treatment process of our teeth, an EPP in the Endodontically Treaded Tooth (ETT) plays a vital role. Scientists are always trying to improve its performance.

In the market, two general types of post can be found: parallel and tapered. Post retention can be defined as: ‘the possibility range of a post for resisting vertical dislodging forces’ (Richard & James 2004). A number of scientists have recommended that a parallel post is more retentive than a tapered post (Standlee et al. 1978, Felton et al. 1991, Johnson et al. 1978, Qualtrough et al. 2003). Thus, a parallel post is considered in this work.
