ABSTRACT

Efflorescence on concrete elements is based on the principle of delivery of efflorescence-forming substances to the surface. The mechanism by which salt gets transported to the surface of structures by moisture through porous materials is well known (Pel 2003). Efflorescence is natural process that appears mostly at the time of forming samples and always with high humidity (Charola 1979). This leads to the requirement to avoid climatic influences, especially water (such as rain, moisture, and others). This efflorescence cannot be completely avoided.
