ABSTRACT
In the process of vacuum hot pressing, solid Ti and liquid Al would react directly; hence, TiAl3 is obtained first, followed by TiAl (Sun et al. 2011). In addition, because Al is in the liquid state and the diffusion rate and the solid solubility of Al in Ti are larger than those of Ti in Al, Al is the main diffusion element in the reaction.
