ABSTRACT

Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) is frequently applied in various fields because of the high specific strength and specific modulus. Mechanical damage is generally generated around the stress concentration region in CFRP structural components due to static or cyclic loading (Spearing & Beaumont 1992). So, in order to make sure that CFRP laminates are valid and reliable, the stress and strain real-time monitoring of CFRP laminates is important.
