ABSTRACT

Eddy current sensor is widely used at the practical stage in various fields because of its many advantages, such as long-term reliability, wide measuring range, high sensitivity, high resolution, rapid response speed, anti-interference ability, simple structure. However, it also has its own corresponding disadvantage. It imposes restrictions on many aspects, including material selection, product development and the use in the development process. For example, the range limitation is one of its disadvantage. The domestic eddy sensor is only used in monitoring of radial and axial offset of rotating machinery with smaller displacement. Measurement range is small because it doesn’t resolve the critical factors, including coil diameter, the signal processing circuit and the essence eddy current effect is nonlinear, it makes that measurement range is maintained at 1/5~1/3 the diameter of the probe.
