ABSTRACT

Herein, we report a simple and controllable fabrication of ternary Fe/Fe3O4/Fe2O3 nanocomposites for the first time. The synthesis was realized simply through sintering a series adducts included an inorganic salt, an organic host and a coordination compound. Different from these studies on iron-containing nanoparticles obtained by reducing metal salts using borohydride derivatives in organic solvents (Tsai & Dye 1991, Bonnemann et al. 1990), our preparation takes the advantage of the self-reduction of the precursors.
