ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION Paramedic education has been undergoing substantial change over the past 2 decades within Australia, with the emergence of tertiary models of education replacing the more traditional vocational education programmes. Paramedic education prior to the mid 1990s was the providence of industry, with or without partnerships with formal vocational education and training (VET) providers. Since the mid 1990s, universities have welcomed the paramedic education sector, bringing with them a changing educational and pedagogical landscape.
