ABSTRACT

The efficiency of applying photovoltaic cells as a renewable source of energy significantly increased in last years. Thus, in all situations in which they are expected to be applied in newly designed buildings, designers should take into account their specific already in the early stages of design. Adding solar panels to a previously established architectural form may not lead to effective solutions. This article describes a method for the simultaneous development of architectural form, and optimization of panels’ distribution. This method is illustrated by an example of roofing stands. The proposed approach will lead to increased efficiency of using the panels while better integrating them with the form of the proposed facility.
