ABSTRACT
The paper presents two timber construction projects with a completely differentapproach. On the one hand, a modern interpretation of a log cabin which should ideally be able to be constructed without connectors, and on the other hand a freely shaped roof construction which is completely digitally designed and whose production is automated. Both projects demonstrate the difference between low-tech and high-tech structures and the resulting opportunities for architects and structural engineers.
