ABSTRACT

Human well-being is a systemic and holistic condition that integrates physical, cognitive, and psychological needs in expressing overall satisfaction, happiness, and quality of life. Comfort is a basic component of well-being, commonly expressing a state or situation in which one is relaxed without any unpleasant feelings caused by external factors. It is conditioned by how human activities are performed, as comfort level may foster or hamper people performing their tasks due to the effects of human physiological and psychological perceptions and reactions to different situations and environmental conditions. Thermal comfort is defined as a condition of the mind and is influenced by a host of individual differences. Auditory environment influences hearing of occupants and their overall comfort, including their physical and mental health, performance, and overall satisfaction. The interior spatial layout and the integration of thermal, auditory, and luminous factors provide ambient conditions that affect perception, mood, thoughts, behavior, and health of occupants.
