ABSTRACT

At 5:30 a.m. Marjorie Murray was beginning her morning routine

of reviewing her goals-a practice she’d developed to keep from

losing touch with them in a job with an inbox always stuffed

with distracting problems. Because she was awake at that early

hour, she saw the message the moment it arrived. The POTUS

Communications System console squawked an alert and displayed

the message. It was obviously not a message that should have gotten

through to the president of the United States. She’d been hacked.
