The dismantling of rocks with the use of explosives when run without knowing the risks of accidents, and without proper safety measures may cause injury to employees and people outside this activity. Injuries caused by persons outside the blasting activity are mainly caused by ultra release effect of rocks and occasionally the damage may be irreparable because some of the accidents involving workers at the time of detonation can be fatal. The mining activity has risks inherent in mining methods adopted and these define the way in which the ore will be mined. The mining methods basically are divided into two: the open and underground sky. However, these have subdivisions that are evaluated and chosen instead to form and geological characteristics of the mineral deposit. According to the RTP-03 FUNDACENTRO (2002), when there is risk of collapse, sliding, accidents involving explosives and projection materials, the adoption of corresponding measures is necessary in order to safety and health of workers.
