Besides causing damage to the operator, the WMSDs also affect companies through economic impacts that can be analysed taking into account the direct costs (representing 30-50% of the total costs related to the occupational activity) and indirect costs (related with a decrease of both productivity and quality) (Sarranheira et al., 2003).
