ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Studies discussed in the paper concern non-linear properties of railway vehicles in transition curves and their vicinity at vehicle speeds around non-linear critical velocity. Studying the non-linear properties is dealt with both the detection of the non-linear behaviours for different vehicles and the explanation what are the circumstances and reasons for appearance of particular behaviour types. The most comprehensively represented results form four groups. First is interest in influence of the curve radius on the earlier detected behaviour. Second is detection of the new cases and then interest in influence of the velocity on the behaviour types that appear. Third is study on influence of the accuracy of wheel-rail contact geometry modelling on the non-linear properties. And forth is study on influence of laterally flexible track stiffness on the non-linear behaviour.
