ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The autonomous vehicles and advanced driver assistance systems require coordination and communication between vehicles and/or between vehicle and environment. The vehicle platooning is such example of coordination and communication in the vehicle column. The traditional control of vehicle platoon requires the global knowledge of the state of all vehicles. This paper deals with the wave-based control of vehicle column. The wave-based control is unconditionally under assume conditions and it does not require full knowledge of the dynamic system being control. The concept leads to the more decentralized type of vehicle platoon. The wave based control enables to stabilize the column (platoon) of vehicles just from the local knowledge of vehicle states that is available from each vehicle and its neighbours. The application could be intelligent ACC control or intelligent traffic lights. The theory and simulation are described.
