ABSTRACT
Some may be unique to an organization, while others may be highly adoptable and scalable. e Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) created the Health IT Value Model to organize and create a common vocabulary to identify, classify, and discuss the many known examples of health IT value. e HIMSS Health IT Value Model organizes a growing collection of known examples of value attributable to health IT into ve broad categories (STEPS™), with additional subtypes within each of the STEPS™ (see Table 1-1). HIMSS currently has documented thousands of examples of value.
