Also known as poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO). PEG usually refers to lower molecular polymers and is the terminology used in the life sciences. PEO usually refers to higher molecular polymers and is the terminology used by polymer chemists (Bailey, F.E., Jr., Poly(ethylene oxide), pp. 1–4, Academic Press, New York, 1976).
