ABSTRACT

The central part of this book focused on a district/organ-based revision of the dose-volume relationships in external radiotherapy, mostly dealing with the main advancements since the publication of the QUANTEC Supplement in 2010. The improvement of our knowledge during the last decade was dramatic for several organs while it was limited for others. In few situations, most of the constraints suggested in QUANTEC were reinforced by more recent investigations, confirming their validity; however, in other cases, the suggestions have been overcome by new data that made them outdated.
